Basically, as I don't exactly live near Toa Payoh, but I was keen on purchasing a flat there, I tried to arrange all my viewings, in a day! Yes. I managed to view 6 flats that day, though there were some huge hiccups. Huge planning on my part, and lots of call back and forth.
So, if you're interested in any of these flats, do comment to get the agent's name and number. (These listings were from mid-June though.)
What I liked about these TPY flats were that they came with an additional utility room which was all the space I needed for a bed and wardrobe. As they do not have ensuite toilets, these utility rooms were the closest to the toilets, which is a good compromise. Also, that estate has character, is well connected, and is an iconic town in Singapore.

This viewing was on another night, as the listing surfaced only after I viewed the others. It had successfully created an access door to one of the toilets from the master bedroom (originally all access to shower/toilet from kitchen), and both toilets, had toilet and shower facilities. It was originally one of those split toilets design. That night, I went back to view the Kim Keat flat properly again. However, I realized that the commute was long and exhausting as my colleagues had warned, so decided to shelf thoughts of buying in this estate till my contract with my current workplace ends.
